Good value for a picnic rug

I was looking for a new picnic rug and Upper Notch Club had a clearance sale going on. Got a Large Picnic Blanket for 25% off. It felt like a solid deal, especially with the first order discount on top. Shipping wasn't instant, but for the price, it was worth the wait.

Nice beach umbrella, delivery okay

I ordered a Beach Umbrella and it arrived in about 8 days to California, which was pretty standard for international shipping. The umbrella itself is good quality and looks just like the pictures. I liked that it felt sturdy, not flimsy. My only small issue was the tracking updates were a bit slow at first, making me wonder where it was for a couple of days. But overall, I'm happy with the purchase and the product. It will be great for summer.

Got a cute tote bag

I snagged a Tote Bag from Upper Notch Club. It was a quick purchase, just saw it and liked the design. The website was easy to use, no fuss at all. It arrived pretty fast, took maybe a week and a half. It's a decent size, fits all my stuff for the beach. Happy with it, definitely use it a lot.

What's their return policy like? If I get a swimsuit and it doesn't fit right, is it a pain to send back?

S Sam Carter 1 month ago
I returned a beach towel that I decided wasn't for me, and it was pretty straightforward. Just make sure it's unused and you follow their instructions on the website.

Returns usually aren't too bad as long as you initiate it within their timeframe and the item is in original condition. You might have to cover return shipping though, so double-check that part.

How long does it typically take for an order to arrive if I live in, say, New York City?

G Gwen Osei 2 months ago
Being from Australia, it's gonna take a bit. I ordered a beach umbrella last spring, and it was maybe 2-3 weeks to get to California. NYC might be similar.

Expect a couple of weeks at least. It's coming a long way. Their site probably has an estimate, but my experience was around 10-14 business days to the Midwest.

Is there a first order discount code floating around anywhere? Trying to save a few bucks on my first purchase.

S Sarah Foster 2 months ago
Yeah, usually if you sign up for their newsletter on the website, they'll send you a code for 10% off your first order. That's how I got mine.

Check their homepage, sometimes a pop-up appears for newsletter signup with a first-time discount code. It's usually 10%.

Anyone know if Upper Notch Club is actually Australian? The stuff looks really nice but I prefer to support local if possible.

W Wendy Vargas 1 month ago
Yep, 100% Australian. They even get a lot of their products from small Aussie makers, which is cool.

Yeah, they're an Aussie company, based there and everything. It's a big part of their whole vibe.

Can you stack coupon codes at Upper Notch Club? I have a welcome offer and also saw a seasonal sale code.

P Phil 1 month ago
Nah, usually it's one code per order. Most places are like that nowadays.

I tried that once and it didn't work. Had to pick which one saved me more, which was a bummer. Just enter one at checkout.

Hey, I'm looking at their big picnic blankets, are they actually waterproof? Like, if the ground's a bit damp, will it soak through?

P Priya 2 months ago
Yeah, I have one of their large picnic rugs and it's pretty good. Spilled a drink on it once and it just beaded up, didn't go through to the grass.

I think they say on the product page they're water-resistant on the bottom side. So light dampness is fine, but not if you put it on a puddle or anything.

I'm thinking about getting one of their insulated cooler bags, but also looking at something similar from Sunnylife. Any thoughts on how they compare?

T Troy 1 month ago
I've got a cooler bag from Upper Notch and it's really well made, super sturdy. I've seen Sunnylife's stuff and it's good too, but I feel like Upper Notch might be a bit more unique and less 'everywhere'.

Sunnylife is definitely more widely available. Upper Notch Club's stuff feels a bit more boutique and often from smaller creators. Quality-wise, both are decent, but Upper Notch tends to have more interesting patterns and designs, I think.

Do they ever do free shipping to the US? Or is it always a flat rate?

D Daisy 2 months ago
Nah, free shipping is usually just within Australia. For international, you'll probably have to pay, I've always seen a fee when I've checked.

I've never seen free international shipping offers from them, not for the US anyway. But sometimes they have other sales that might make up for it.
